For the record☝️(regarding Record Store Day)

Our record shop is open as usual, although we aren’t stocking any Record Store Day titles.

We know RSD can be lucrative for everyone: the shops selling, labels and artists releasing, factories manufacturing, and collectors reselling these records. 

We prefer to celebrate vinyl culture in another way, as opposed to participating in Record Store Day. 

Every Black Friday (which is RSD’s second “day” of the year), Aloha Got Soul releases a compilation called Mix Plate featuring emerging artists from Hawaii. 

Why? Because we feel that *local* music communities are sorely missing from RSD, and as a record store and record label in a place like Hawaii, we believe it’s important to support local artists. 

If you’d like to celebrate AGS on Record Store Day, considering buying our Mix Plate compilation. We still have copies of last year’s edition featuring Franskiiz & Lelz, Lucky Roux, Keilana, Lina Robins, Izik, MALU and several more.
